Jake Cho is a  partner in Lim Ruger’s Business and Finance Group.  Mr. Cho advises private and public corporations on transactional matters encompassing a large spectrum of corporate issues, ranging from formation, capital raise, debt financing, governance and business separations to M&A activities.

Leveraging his 15-plus years of experience representing global financial institutions and institutional investors in complex financing and derivative transactions, Mr. Cho also advises issuers and investors on matters involving structured finance and other sophisticated financial products.  His broad product knowledge in structured finance ranges from esoteric asset securitizations (e.g., Small Business Administration (“SBA”) loans, merchant cash advances) and collateralized loan obligations (“CLOs”) to derivatives.

In addition, Mr. Cho advises television and other media companies regarding licensing of intellectual properties and copyright issues.

Representative Matters

  • Represented a hedge fund in connection with its private securitization of merchant cash advances.
  • Represented an SBA lender in a $60 million SBA 7(a) loan securitization.
  • Represented Bank of New York Mellon in connection with its derivative transactions with CLO issuers.
  • Represented a Norwegian oil company in connection with its oil production-related credit default swap transaction with Credit Suisse.
